Hi there! I'm a PhD candidate in the Sociology Department at Duke University. I'm interested in (1) why people do what they do, (2) why and how people influence each other's behavior, and (3) organizational influence on what people do. In short, I study the effect of social factors — like organizations, socio-economic resources, and social roles — on individual choices. Right now, I'm working on several projects about treatment decisions made by patients with cancer. In the past, I've studied the career aspirations of students at elite universities.
While you're here, you can read a few of my papers, see my vita, or read my (long-neglected) personal blog. When I'm not doing research, I'm usually tinkering around with software and statistics or taking pictures. Feel free to say hi.
